Where's the Cross: Tower Cranes

At the beginning of June I had done what I thought was a fun game of posting questions that made people think of where The Cross can be found in their dailey lives. I mentioned at the end of the week that I was going to write a summary of most of my thoughts and I never did until now. Below are some of my thoughts on where and why The Cross of Christ is so important in my life and how it has and may continue to change my attitudes. I'll continue these snippits as much as possible but here is the first..

Tower Cranes was my first thought on where Crosses are found. This is because every day when I get to work I usually see at least three or more of these objects. The closes one is right outside our office window across the street. Usually I don't think to much of it but for some reason, as I saw the crane moving porta-potties from one place to another, it dawned on my that there's a Cross staring me in the face.

BOOM. Then it hit me. This thing, this crane does resemble The Cross that was added to my life a couple of years ago. It resembles a part of my life that I did not always have but know that I now can use it to help others. My physical strength.

I was blessed to be in a family that has an average height above 6'-0" and can typically lift a lot of weight. Thus the crane. A crane is one very important tool in the construction industry that speeds up the process of moving things not only horizontally but vertically also. Such is my physical strength. I can still get up and move my body an any direction. Something I wish everyone could do but not so. I have the strength to move anything from a pebble to a large boulder. Through work I became capable of lifting my two brothers. Harder now because they have been growing out more than up but I'm sure it is still possible to lift them.

Lately, with the two kids and a job that is 20 miles away, I have been physically tired and worn out. But then think of those that do not have the strength to get out of bed. I have been getting to work when the sun comes up and luckily I have the option to stop and pause and think of the great day that the Lord has made. Familiar to most this quote comes from somewhere in the Bible. Just like the more famous quote, "Give us today our daily bread". So how do I use what God has given me today? Know that it is just for today, it may be building on something from yesterday, it may continue to build through tomorrow and that God made me capable of handeling these items. "Through Him All Things Are Possible"
